Though I grew up in the Midwest, I spent my summers and winter holidays with my extended family in Texas. My family, originally from Wisconsin, really leaned into their Texan identity after they moved there in the 1970s. As such, all things Texas were revered in my 1990s childhood — honky-tonks, two-step & line dancing, BBQ brisket, the Cowboys, and, of course, western wear! I was less than two years old when my grandparents gave me these little, red, Laredo cowgirl boots. I loved them so much. I've kept them for 35 years & now use them as decor!
